בית הכנסת “סלאת קהל” בעיר אסוור’ה במרוקו.

במשך שנתיים אני עוקבת מקרוב אחריי שחזור/שיפוץ בית הכנסת סלאת קהל בעיר אסוו’רה במרוקו.

איש יקר מר חיים ביטון שנולד בעיר אסוור’ה שבמרוקו, החליט לעשות מעשה ולשפץ את בית הכנסת בו אביו נהג להתפלל. בתור ילד נהג להגיע איתו לבית הכנסת בשבתות, בחגים ובשמחות.
למעשה בית הכנסת היה לב הקהילה היהודית בעיר אסוור’ה.

בכל פעם כשאני מגיעה לעיר אני לוקחת את המטיילים שלי כדי לפגוש את מר חיים ביטון שיספר להם את הסיפור על בית הכנסת ועל יהדות יהודי מרוקו ואסוור’ה בפרט.
ומה גרם לו להחליט לשחזר את בית הכנסת.
